Things have greened up around the Friends Shelter just in time for the 

Grand Opening

Sunday, June 2

1 PM

There will be a brief ceremony and light refreshments will be served at the shelter.  DNR staff, project donors and contractors will be joining us as we celebrate the beginning of what we hope are many many years of enjoyment of this facility. The Friends look forward to showing the shelter and thanking all the contributors who made it possible.

If you would like to be a lasting part of the new Friends Shelter you can purchase a commemorative brick, to be placed in front of the building's main entrance.  Click here to download an order form or stop by the park office to see sample bricks and pick up an order form.  Order forms are also available in the Friends Shelter. The deadline for sending in forms is August 1st.

The grass has been planted around the new Friends Shelter.  Now we just need a little rain.
